Battel bewteen the no.2 and n0.7 test sides
The New Zealand cricket team are currently touring India in September and October 2016 to play three Test matches and five One Day Internationals (ODIs).The first Test starts from 22 September at Kanpur. The five days match is expected to be a thriller.
Captain Virat Kohli s not overtly worried about the Indian Test team’s recent struggle against spinners but says they are surely working on this aspect and putting in more efforts to bat against the spinners longer since a side that aspires to be a champion can’t leave any window for the opposition to exploit.
On the other hand ,Play the ball, not the pitch. Teams are quite aware of this when they come to India, but once one turns sharply away and another goes straight on - sometimes with even the bowler not knowing how - the shadows of close-in fielders and the ferocious appeals can all get to you. The heat and the noise can leave you delirious; even those who have played on these pitches all their lives can struggle, according to New Zealand's captain and coach.
But it is the bowling attack, especially the spin trio in Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Amit Mishra that will be the biggest source of worry for the Black Caps.
For India the focus will not only be on regaining their position at the top of the Test rankings, which they had recently lost to Pakistan, but also to maintain their dominance on home soil, having blanked the South Africans 3-0 in their last assignment as hosts in the format whereas for
the visiting New Zealand side however, the upcoming series is not just a chance for them to conquer the ‘final frontier’ — winning a Test series on Indian soil, but it will also be an opportunity for Kane Williamson 'the leader' to boost his captaincy record by achieving his first Test series win against a higher-ranked side.
